Django-District Meetup
by Justin Quick

Things went really well for our first Django District meetup on thurs night. We had a great turnout and a series of interesting discussions involving APIs. I gave a talk on the apibuilder and the slides are posted below

Checkout the Blog Widget Demo mentioned in the slide show.

Most of the work is only currently available in the development branch but should be moved upstream shortly. Here are some of the developments I am investigating:

  • Distributed backbone for serialization/transformation computation
  • Dynamic documentation generation to turn your settings into a whitepaper (eg nytimes)
  • RemoteQuerySet to work like normal Django QuerySet
  • Wad o' Stuff parameter parsing (for tiered relations)

wonderful chance to meet djangonauts!
So, how come I didn't get to hear about this meeting? And how do I make sure I *do* get to hear about the next one?
Join the Django District group (http://groups.google.com/group/django-district) and come to our meeting next month (May 28).
Great presentation Justin. Looking forward to using apibuilder in some of our projects here at Discovery. Steve - you can also follow @django_district or @richleland. I post updates about meeting topics and dates there. See you in May!
